Ninth Edition Breakout Run moved to 2022

woensdag 12 mei 2021

Due to the corona pandemic, the Breakout Run has been taken off the 2021 calendar. The popular obstacle run – in which sports fans (voluntarily) allow themselves to be locked up like criminals after which they get a chance to escape using a challenging escape route full of obstacles – will now take place at a later date in 2022. Bib numbers will remain valid for the ninth edition in 2022.

In view of the current COVID-19 situation, it is virtually impossible to organise the 2021 Breakout Run in a safe and responsible way, with the atmosphere and experience that the participants are used to from us. ‘’Public Health is a top priority’’, says organiser Luuk van der Doelen. ‘’We would not want to give participants, who have already registered, false hope in these uncertain times and instead prefer to offer them clarity as soon as possible. The decision has been a tough one.’’

As was communicated before, all purchased bib numbers will remain valid. If you have any questions, you can click here to read our FAQs. As soon as we have more information about the new date, we will share it with you through our official channels. Registration is currently not open.

The Breakout Run is the ultimate obstacle run with more than 45 different obstacles. Swimming through water, crawling through mud, scrambling over obstacles or jumping from great heights. Every obstacle on the Breakout Run poses a new challenge. Participants who assume the role of criminal from the moment they register will experience a real ‘escape experience’ that is heightened by the way the event site is built up and the actors who cannot be distinguished from real prison guards.
